Have you always wanted to be more involved in what happens in your local community? The common misconception about council members is that all they do is attend council meetings, yet this couldn’t be further from the truth. Being a local councillor has a wide range of responsibilities and rewards, but the most significant aspect of the job is simply having regular interactions with residents in their own neighbourhood. No one councillor is in charge of any particular decision because the Parish Council functions as a unified non-political body.
Council members speak for their community while being conscious of and sensitive to the concerns of any special minorities.
Consall Parish Councillors receive no remuneration for their attendance or involvement on the Parish Council.
Consall Parish Council is made up of seven seats.

Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Advice concerning the Coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic is frequently being reviewed and updated. The latest advice is widely available on Government and Health and Health Service websites, and in the media/press.
There are particular concerns surrounding vulnerable persons aged over 70 years and/or with underlying medical issues.
We are fortunate to live in a small village community where most people are known to their neighbours.
Hopefully most of those who are are vulnerable within our community are being adequately supported by their family, friends or neighbours. We need to be particularly mindful of those who may fall outside this close support network.
At a national level, in recent days over 750,000 people have volunteered to offer their support if needed to the NHS.
The Government is in the process of setting up a data base of vulnerable people who may need additional volunteer support.
Consall Parish Council want to assist in any way required. That said, we are anxious not to replicate the good work and community support arrangements which have already been established in our villages, or other ongoing arrangements which are being implemented at at national or district level.
If you do need assistance in the present crisis or you know of anyone else who needs help, please contact either:
Carmen Worthington (Parish Clerk) Tel: 01782 550741/07590 536753 or your local Parish Councillor (contact details on the Parish Council 'Councillors' page.
